EMF / EVP Microphone

"Hear" and Record EMF Energy

The EVP Mic is a ghost hunting device by renowned inventor, Bill Chappell, that allows you to LISTEN to energy. It detects electromatic waves and translates it into audio waves we can hear and record. Just plug it into a recorder and experiment with listening to EMF.

Listen to EMF Energy.

In short, the EVP Mic converts energy into sound. And, honestly, energy sounds pretty cool!

When it comes to paranormal investigating, keep an ear out for when it changes - especially when it shouldn't. What does it sound like? Experiment by walking around the location and 'hearing' what electricity sounds like. Wave the EVP Mic near a computer, a fan or a light switch. Each will have its own electronic signature - or 'voice'.

Simple to use with a recorder.

Just plug the EVP Mic into an EVP/audio recorder with a microphone input and hit record. Use headphones to hear it live. Honestly, this device is super simple with no need for batteries. It is powered through the recorder.

For ghost hunting, we suggest placing it in one area and listen closely for changes (that maybe shouldn't be there).

A unique way to baseline on ghost hunts.

Baseline readings are super helpful to kick off your paranormal investigation. The EMF Mic provides a more in-depth 'listen' into those readings. Traditionally, this is done with an EMF meter amongst other tools. Instead of that (or in addition to), try using this microphone with a recorder and headphones to tap into the true voice of the location.

IMPORTANT: This device MUST be used with an audio recorder, amplifier, speaker or video camera that has a microphone input. We have listed a few above that we have tested to work well.

  • Size: 1.6" square x 1" high
  • Audio plug: standard 3.5mm audio jack
  • Audio cable size: ~3' long
  • Use of this product REQUIRES an audio recorder (see recommendations in the product description) or other type of amplifier able to process this type of microphone data. We've not tested all recorders. But we do know the ones listed in the description work well.

DIRECTIONS

Simply plug the EVP Microphone into your audio recorder and record as normal. The recorder MUST have ports for a micrphone and headphones.

NOTE: Use of this product REQUIRES an audio recorder (see recommendations in the product description) or other type of amplifier able to process this type of microphone data. We've not tested all recorders. But we do know the ones listed in the description work well.

This is a high sensitivity inductive microphone that will not pick up your voice. It only picks up electromagnetic energy.

It utilizes a standard 3.5mm audio jack to plug into a recorder. If the recorder has a headphone port and the ability to listen 'LIVE' then you should be able to use headphones to hear the live energy readings from the EVP Mic.

Using the 3' cable, we suggest keeping the EVP Mic a bit of a distance from the audio recorder to lessen setting itself off. Just a few inches is fine. But we've provided a longer cable for versatility.

The EVP Mic, itself, does not require batteries or charging.

I found this useful in locating the source of EMF in an old house with bad wiring. Great for initial sweeps of areas to get a baseline of EMF strength.
